I first met James some time ago when a good friend of mine recommended him to me for a major refurbishment of my son's house in Driffied. This turned out to be a much bigger project than I had expected. I soon realised it was too much for me to project manage and I must say, without James it would have been a disaster. He took the job over and completed everything to a high standard. This included not only actual building work but also joinery, damp proofing and roofing.
Since then he has recently completed a large outdoor patio at my farmhouse. The standard of workmanship is second to none and the site was always left clean and tidy which is greatly appreciated having had other builders in the past which I would never ever use again.
I am confident that whatever project James decides to take on it will be with the utmost consideration for the client and quality of workmanship.

I’ve had James come and do a variety of building jobs on my home which dates back to 1780. All jobs have required a very sympathetic understanding of the houses construction and extensive knowledge of traditional building materials and practices. I’ve found James to be an inexhaustible knowledge on the subject and have been extremely happy with his work. The latest job being a complete restoration of the gable end of my house. Replacing sandstone blocks and a complete rebuild of the chimney. Not only did he keep the bill to the agreed fixed price for the job but his attention to detail was outstanding. He is as much a highly accomplished builder as artisan craftsman. His work ethic is also highly admirable. Keeping to agreed times and deadlines and often working overtime to bring work to an earlier completion to minimise disruption to me and my family. I would highly recommend his company for any job. It’s rare to find a tradesperson who you can trust and will work for the greater good of the client rather than just serve their own bottom line.

I would have no hesitation in recommending James Lee of ibuild. James was recommended to me when I was looking for someone to construct a large patio in my garden. From our initial meeting to discuss the job, James arrived when he said he would, was pleasant to talk to and happy to advise on all the options for the best outcome. He turned up promptly every morning, worked long days with total commitment to the job and obvious pride in getting it exactly right. As stated in his initial quote he does have a meticulous eye for detail, keeps the site clean and tidy and communicates throughout on the progress of the work. He even goes out of his way to keep the neighbours happy whilst undertaking the work. I am highly delighted with my new patio and would happily employ James again for any future building work!

I have known James for a few years now and over that time me and my husband have come to rely on James for all our building requirements, both large and small. He has an amazing attention to detail and we trust him implicitly to guide, advise and plan our building work as well as doing the manual building work itself. We have recommended James to lots of friends, family and colleagues because we know James is trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable, and most importantly he always ensures the building work is finished to an extremely high standard. James is also very personable and ensured that he had all of our neighbours on side, when quite often this can obviously be a time when neighbours express distress and anger. He did this by ensuring he spoke to each of the neighbours before building work commenced and continued to communicate effectively with all parties throughout the build process. I can certainly say on our part that the communication was amazing. James regularly called on an evening just to check we were happy with everything and understood how he was progressing. He always welcomed questions and feedback and always explained everything so that I could understand (this is no easy task!). I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending James for any building work, but hope he will always have a little time still to fit in our family jobs.

As these items were missed by the original builder, James managed to resolve these problems and ensured they were done to the highest possible standard. I would highly recommend James as he's got an eye for detail, turns up on time and gets on with the job at hand. Whilst leaving the place tidy and without any knowledge of him being there except for the excellent work carried out.

We are so pleased with our new relaxation area in our garden. James & the team even made the whole process relaxing too! Their work ethic from start to finish, as well as their utmost respect for people & property was second to none. This culture gave us every confidence the craftsmanship was going to be of a quality to achieve our desired look. Clearly taking pride in their work they recommend tweaks in design to enhance the look or improve the longevity of quality. All within a budget that was value for money. Highly recommended!

In a world full of below standard tradesmen - James Lee is definitely in the premier league of builders. He's extremely knowledgeable with regards to building work along with the other aspects which a job might entail. He was able to identify problems, solve them and resolve the issue to a really high standard without cutting any corners. Will be contacting James again when I need a reliable builder.
